TESTIMONIAL

The Barons are beautifully decorated, thoughtfully equipped with top notch appliances and kitchen gadgets and make the upheaval of being in temp accommodation a very small burden indeed. With full cable tv, lots of nice little extras and a great team to help you get settled and live well, I couldn’t fault this as a temporary apartment. Minutes to St Margarets station or a short walk over Richmond bridge to the bright lights of Richmond, it is ideally located. Ali the owner personally welcomed me, helped out when I had minor domestic emergencies and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Top place, highly recommend it. Fiona M

I spent a happy two months in the lovely Garden Suite in summer 2021, when I was between properties. Top accommodation and top service. It’s a lovely flat in a big characterful Victorian house with the rare bonus of a beautiful mature garden. The owner Ali and housekeeper Magda are a pleasure to deal with and do all they can to make your stay happy and comfortable. They care about the house and the guests, and it shows – this is definitely not corporate and impersonal. The decor is neutral and tasteful with design touches that show it’s been thought about. It’s all immaculately clean and fresh, and the weekly clean by Magda is first-class. Full kitchen with washer/dryer, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, lots of cupboard space and everything you need, with space for your own things if you’re long-term and have your own stuff with you. The living room has double doors to the patio, which is private to this flat. I would sit at the table and WFH with a view of the garden, and step outside whenever I wanted a break, to feel the sunshine, stand under the trees and listen to the birds. I often had my meals on the patio or did morning yoga there when it was warm enough. The lawn area is for use by all guests and some would bring their dogs out for a runaround (the house is pet friendly), but mostly it’s almost like your own garden. This was such a massive plus to my stay. Book the Garden Suite if you can! Bathroom is completely tiled and feels luxe, with an excellent shower and good space for toiletries around and under the basin (which some places lack and is very annoying – women need space for our products!). The bedroom looks out to the garden and is peaceful; no neighbour noise and quiet at night for sleeping. There’s a wardrobe with hanging space, shelves and drawers, and a console table for toiletries – so again, good space for a long-term stay. You can settle in, spread your things out and be as comfy as at home. Hallway for coats and shoes. Keypad entry, so I always felt secure. Wooden floors, with carpet in the bedroom. The road is very quiet, and the house is on the side away from the main road, yet it’s only three minutes walk to St Margarets station, which goes to Waterloo. Richmond is a short bus ride or 20-minute walk, and is a nice town with all amenities including Wholefoods, Waitrose, Ole & Steen bakery and plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs, including some right on the river. Bhuti is a very nice yoga studio and therapy rooms. There are also a few handy shops, cafés, dentist, osteopath, a pub and a post office in St Margarets itself. The river is 12 minutes walk away, across Marble Hill Park, and it’s a particularly lovely green and scenic part. Lots of trees, many different birds and ducks, boats, kayakers, paddle boarders and walkers. I went for many lunchtime and weekend long walks along there. Richmond Park is not far. The surrounding streets, with their beautiful Victorian homes, are a pleasure to stroll around too (dreaming of being able to afford them!). 20 The Barons is a home away from home and I would happily stay in the Garden Suite again – I often wish I was still there! An absolute gem of a place! I was lucky enough to stay at the Barons for the best part of a year when I relocated to the UK from Australia. I was in the Brooke Apartment on the lower ground floor. It was a wonderfully bright and cosy space, beautifully furnished with a fantastic fireplace, comfy bed, wonderful shower and modern kitchen A real bonus for me was the ability to access the gorgeous little garden at the back of the property. Ali and Jason did all they could to help me make the apartment my home away from home in the time I stayed there. St Margaret’s is a lovely village, and the Barons is perfectly located for all the cafes, restaurants and shops and 2 mins from the train station so it is really convenient. Richmond is little more than a 10 minute walk away. It is a truly beautiful property and I would highly recommend anyone staying there. Susie Q
